"Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young - a place near your altar.  O Lord Almighty, my King and my God, blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you."

Psalms 84: 3-4

In poor villages such as Garde Saline, homes are often made of mud, sticks, and pieces of tin. Our goal, once increasing the economic base of the village, has been to raise funds to build solid homes, typically costing $12,000 to $20,000, each.  Every family would need to contribute either funds, goods, or sweat equity in building not only their home, but all homes to be built in the village.

Since beginning our work in Garde Saline, several other nonprofit organizations have funded the construction of 50 homes in the village, giving them to villagers without the expectation that they must contribute to the costs of the home and not factoring sanitation systems into the existing village compost system.
Given that housing is being developed by other nonprofits, it remains to be seen if The Faith Project will need a housing program in Garde Saline.
